Laura Milroy
Compliance Director
A key part of the team for over a decade, Laura joined Goodmans in 2011 fresh out of university as a law graduate. Starting as adviser support, she moved into a Paraplanning role before finding her home in compliance in 2019 and joining our Board of Directors in January 2023.
At Goodmans our clients come first, so Laura’s role involves ensuring that our processes and policies are not only compliant with regulations and law, but that everything we do is in our clients’ best interests. She also facilitates training across the company, works on development plans and ensures that our team are given the support they need to provide the best service. She’s currently studying towards her Financial Planning Diploma.
In her spare time, Laura spends a lot of time outdoors, either above or underground in caves and mines as an active member of the Plymouth Caving Group, also sitting on their committee. She has been a volunteer leader for the Dartmoor Plodders for over ten years, training young people to complete the Ten Tors all-terrain walking and camping challenge (35 miles, 45 miles and 55 miles). She’s also taken up sea swimming. Her more indoor (and less arduous!) pursuits include eating out, drinking cocktails and baking, although even there she’s been known to push the boundaries on her drip cakes!
